The α1 - Microglobulin ELISA kit is an enzyme immunoassay intended for the quantitative determination of α1-microglobulin in serum, plasma and urine. 

α1-microglobulin is a protein produced in the liver. In healthy persons it is metabolised in the kidneys and only minor amounts can be detected in the urine.

Increased α1-microglobulin concentration in serum is detected when the glomerular filtration rate is limited. In addition, when the ratio of total protein to the sum of albumin and α1-microglobulin is disordered, a prerenal proteinuria should be suspected.

The ß2 - Microglobulin ELISA kit is an enzyme immunoassay intended for the quantitative determination of ß2-microglobulin in serum, plasma and urine. 

ß2-microglobulin is a protein and is found on the cell membrane of all nucleated cells. This protein is metabolised extensively in the kidney.

The serum concentration is influenced by the rates of synthesis and metabolism and is usually stable in healthy persons. Changes in the serum concentrations are indicative of disorders in glomerular and tubular functions.

Serum β2-microglobulin is used as a prognostic tumor marker in oncohematology.

The α2-Macroglobulin ELISA kit is intended for the quantitative determination of α2-macroglobulin in urine, serum and plasma. 

Indications:

• Detection and differentiation of proteinuria according to kidney damage localisation;

• Differentiation of renal and postrenal hematuria.

Detecting α2M in urine is evidence of postrenal damage, when unfiltered serum proteins leak into the urine. Causes of postrenal damage are inflammation or hematuria as a consequence of renal stones or carcinomas.

The SDMA ELISA kit is intended for the quantitative determination of symmetrical dimethyarginine (symmetrical dimethylarginine (SDMA)) in human, canine and feline serum, EDTA and Li-heparin plasma.

SDMA is a methylated derivative of L-arginine which is strictly eliminated by renal extraction, thus the SDMA plasma level is strongly correlated to renal function. 

Indication:

· Renal failure;

· Cardiovascular risk in renal dysfunction;

· Hypertension in renal dysfunction.
