INDOL NITRATE MEDIUM is a semisolid medium used to determine nitrate reduction and indole production by a wide variety of organisms. The reduction of nitrate is an important biochenical tool in the identification of many microorganisms. Nitrate redeuction is an important characteristic of most members of the Enterobacteriaceae family.
